The business environment of higher education is becoming increasingly more complex, turbulent, and demanding. These new challenges are manifested in a broad range of internal and external pressures affecting leaders, managers, supervisors, and employees, including the need for more specialized skills and technical competencies, the need for a more diverse workforce, and the need to increase faculty, staff and organizational productivity.
The mission of Office of Organizational Development (OOD) is to support Georgia Tech’s strategic vision and plan by strengthening individual and organizational performance, and fostering teamwork and a sense of community among all stakeholders. OOD works with organizational leaders to develop dynamic, effective, and efficient organizational units for achieving strategic goals, satisfying stakeholders’ needs, and sustaining long term organizational performance.
OOD promotes institutional and unit excellence through an integrated approach to organizational effectiveness. We help leaders and their teams assess their needs, create strategic plans, organize their capabilities and resources, improve their work processes, and develop collaborative team environments. OOD also provides metrics for monitoring performance and benchmarking data to support decision-making and strengthen the capacity for leadership and innovation.
