The Institute encourages all faculty and staff to Share the Knowledge of Success in academic and administrative processes across campus. In order to facilitate sharing, Georgia Tech is pleased to announce the Georgia Tech Best Practices Challenge – an initiative to acknowledge the creative and innovative ways departments are improving processes, using technology, and motivating people, and encourage the sharing of that knowledge between departmental colleagues and their campus counterparts.
Our vision is to have a best practices process for Georgia Tech that:
- Achieves the Strategic Plan's goal of "A supportive, collaborative and effective administrative infrastructure"
- Re-enforces the Georgia Tech culture of creativity and innovation
- Emphasizes the importance of continuous improvement and knowledge transfer
About the Georgia Tech Best Practices Challenge
Each year, the campus will be “challenged” to submit successful best practice ideas. Entries that meet Challenge rules and criteria will be eligible for either a "Best of the Best" or "Runner Up" trophy. Entries will be accepted for any one of the following categories:
- People Strategies – hiring, development, retention and motivation of people including faculty, administrative, research and student employees
- Research, Finance & Institute Operations – daily management of research development, academics, facilities, and administrative responsibilities
- Academic and Student Services – experience of and services provided to undergraduate, graduate, distance, study abroad and professional education students
- Information Technology – innovative, enabling applications of technology at the Institute
Departments with entries selected for a "Best of the Best" or "Runner Up" trophy will be invited to present their best practice at the Georgia Tech Best Practices Showcase.
